This is all about the resale shop. Things are donated to them for free then sold in the shop. Dont waste your time if you are looking for a deal. Just use craiglist or go over to goodwill. There are a few other clothes second hand stores in town that actually sell it for lower price. We originally went and just looked around and everything was just so expensive. I price shop a lot and to be honest some of the prices at this location you could by new cheaper at walmart. My wife and I are pretty poor and we were tired of sleeping on the floor so we started looking for a cheap bed. For the price they have their beds for I would be able to buy a new one. I just moved from Arlington and honestly this is the first Salvation Army that I have been to that had such a huge brand new building they built for themselves. They had moved from a perfectly good building down town by the looks of it also. This place isnt hurting for money so if you are willing to give extra money for over priced things maybe you should donate it to a charity that really needs it and shop somewhere else.
i was in need of help and went to the damednation army and found that it was a complete joke. first i would like to say that i was thrown out over a book and have no write ups of any kind and followed all the rules that change every day. i was there with the hopes they could assist my in getting back on my feet. WRONG!!!!!! They made it so hard to do anything and you cannot use any of the resources that they have there such as washer and dryer to clean clothes no t.v. and no support. The captain and his monster of a wife do the bare min. the have there so called transition housing that is full of drunks and drug addicts and they have also been caught cheating the hud program. i am a strong person and i will make it but i feel for the people that have no voice and i am in the process of contacting local news, papers, and goverment to expose them for what they are. they have thrown out handicap people that later were assualted on the streets. it is a shame and i will make dam sure i am heard. CHAD J.
I went here to see if they would help us after the hurricane we got placed over here and I had no idea where anything was we had nothing and they turned me and my 5 kids away sent me to Hitchcock high school and said they were giving stuff away I got there and nobody was in sight then I called and told them how I used the last bit of gas I had to get there and the rude lady would not put the manager on that told me this and she hung up on me I will never in my life or my kids life mess with the Salvation Army again!!
Lots of great deals and often quality items. The one on Nasa Rd contains even higher quality stuff. It all depends upon the day you are shopping as well because sometimes things are marked down on specific days. Such as the first weekend in the month the one in Galveston usually has all clothes for a $1.00 and often up to 50% on everything else in the store.
VERY, VERY high prices at this store. One might not mind paying higher prices for decent merchandise, but their item are quite frankly.....garbage. After I have looked through their clothing racks, I always feel the need to go home and bathe.
Basic household items you would find in your average 4th rift store. I was expecting to find other army/navy items found at other locations.
Pricy for second hand store, even at half price, very well organized, clean, lots of knick, knacks. Great place for discount gifts.
First off, I have visited many Salvation Armies and this one was a bit pricey. The customer service was lacking as well.
Was devastated in Harvey and anything with 99 cent on it the rounded it off in their favor.. Very unjust at this time
I love and support the Salvation army, but this store is dreadful!!!!!!!! OVER priced and underwhelming performance.
Full, high prices for mostly used garbage. Credit card policies are rediculous and staff is usually rude.
Upgraded facility a big plus. This one kept clean and pleasant. Prices much better than Goodwill.
I would much rather bring whatever I can to help the men and women that are getting the help.
We are so glad to help and to see that whatever we do it goes to help the less fortunate.
Put up a sign if you dont want people charging their phone in your store. Silly.
The best one I have ever been to as far as selection and customer service.
Not much to choose from. This place definitely needs more donations.
Thrift store well maintained good shopping items reasonably priced
Ever changing merchandise makes this a fun place to browse!
Need more cloths on the rack. Cashier did a good job.
They helped me in a time of need. I am very grateful.
