+JMJ...A wonderful, wonderful place with amazingly compassionate, friendly, and very professional people. Took my "ferocious" rescue there in 2014 to be neutered. He could be anything but cooperate when there was a need to get him into a carrier. When we arrived for his neuter appointment, the veterinarian they had at the time, was forewarned by myself that the kitty could be rather feisty. I was absolutely thunderstruck when he, the vet, removed my kitty from the carrier without any incident at all!! Recently, I was hopeful to take some captured ferals to Sedona, but learned that they no longer had a veterinarian in residence. They are a great organization working for and with discarded pets. I sure hope they remedy their veterinarian deficiency soon.

We adopted a dog from this shelter and he was sick as can be. When we took him to the vet immediately after leaving the shelter he had kennel cough, he was grossly malnourished and quite sick in general. It was quite expensive to get him up to full weight and health but he is happy as can be now. The Humane Society really should make sure that animals are not sick before adopting them out.
