This place is completely different from stores like the salvation army and the goodwill. Its kind of like a huge old garage thats crammed full of several generatons of everyday stuff.. Cluttered, dusty and a bit grimy is the theme here so expect to get your hands dirty. Its true that the lighting could be better and it has that old musty closed up kind of smell thats really noticaeble when you first walk in BUT....this place has so many great deals. Its the cheapest thrift store in town. you can go in here with ten dollars or less and leave with a bag full cool clothes, dishes, blankets curtains, a toaster oven, lamps, computer furniture for just a few bucks, bikes and toys,books shoes coffee makers......i kid you not.. They also have something on sale every day of the week. one day it may be all womens apparrel. or all kids clothing, or mens clothing or all shoes and accessories like purses & belts half off.... The only complaint i really have about the rad store is that they close too early. I think banks have longer hours of operation than the rad store does. they close up at 5 pm or 6pm which makes it difficult for people who work 9-5 to ever get there to take advantage of daily deals. I wish this place would stay open a bit later than they do. Like 7 or 8pm * Trivia - the rad store used to be a green or blue chip stamp redemption center way back in the day. anybody remember this?

Very reasonably priced, most things are a good deal. Dealt with a not so bright younger guy (probably new as opposed to dumb) asked the same question three times in different ways. Manager (I assume) was not the nicest guy, but man it was a bit muggy in there, he himself asked what I needed ,plastic hangers, spoke with one other person and she showed me where the hangers were. A few minutes later I ran into the same lady , I wish I had asked her name, and she gave me some more hangers they just got in. I was very pleased with my experience and will continue to support this establishment!

This is my all time favorite store in general. Not just favorite thrift store, but when i need a break from kids, this is the place i could go. I always get really great clothes for awesome prices. I go here at least twice a week, every week. And the best part, on wednesday most stuff is half off!!! I love this store and i love being there. Staff is pretty nice too, they dont really acknowledge you much, but when ur at the register they are nice. Keep it up rad and i will keep coming ♡♡♡♡

EVERY WED. AND SATURDAY THEY HAVE A FANTASTIC SALE OF 30%-50% OFF. EVERY DAY THERE IS A CLOTHING SALE!!!!! EVERY SUNDAY THEY HAVE GENEROUS MARKDOWNS. ALL OF THE CLOTHING IS ORGANIZED BY SIZE AND COLOR.......NOW WHAT OTHER THRIFT STORE DOES THAT???? AND YES! THEY ARE A CHARITY THAT HELPS THE DISABLED, AND IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT THE DISABILITY IS. THESE GUYS HAVE BEEN AROUND OVER 30 YEARS, AND HOPE THEY ARE AROUND ANOTHER 30 YEARS......

You have to want to dig and dig to find stuff! However it is worth it! You also can get good deals on furniture there if you go on weekends. Its an old fashioned style thrift store where you need as I said to hunt and find. I have found some great deals there a leather jacket for 10 bucks!

This place is so disgusting i will never go there again..they r over priced for used items and the smell in that store is so gross i would rather smell a homeless person! Terrible place...and their railing outside is broken and my son ran into it and busted his face open!

I come here every time I am in Bakersfield. Prices are low compared to where I am from. I like the fact that they separate clothes by category, size and color. Good selection. I like a store packed with products.

We were stuck in McFarland 4 a week waitin on parts & Rad Thrift Store got us in camping gear 4 a handful of peanuts. Everything from blankets & pillows 2 a good knife.
