Located in the middle of the huge Mesa Verde NP, the lodge, registration building, and nearby Far View Terrace offer enough to get by. The room is nice but small. Two double beds, nightstand, desk, armoire, sink/vanity just about fit. Drawers in armoire pull out to hit the bed. Has a small balcony for two chairs. Registration bldg has two eatery choices: Metate Room is nice, more formal dining while the upstairs Lounge has a small bar in waiting area then a small, more casual dining area. A short driving distance away is the Far View Terrace which offers a cafeteria style dining with a good sized attached gift shop. The Terrace is the only location I saw in the whole park that had a water bottle filling station.

Summary based on one single night stay in a top level, more expensive Kiva Deluxe room --note that many reviews seem outdated or just plain wrong, but this may be based on occupancy or the room level we booked --exterior corridors --no noise from adjacent rooms as many reviewers noted --free, just fair wireless internet --free parking --no breakfast options except restaurant in off season. $13.95 for buffet. --stellar view --ok service --lodge reception had strong disagreeable odor, which was somewhat dissipated by the next day --lounge is a better, less expensive dining option Recommended

Very convenient location for Mesa Verde as it takes about 30 minutes to get into the park. The rooms were clean and comfortable and we had a great view of the mesas and valleys from a high point in the park. The lounge has a decent selection of food and drinks for dinner. The staff is all very friendly. Would definitely recommend to visitors of Mesa Verde!

A magical place to 2500 m high, beautiful view. Rooms were basic, no TV, a couple of restaurants at a distance on foot. Inside the Mesa Verde park, to see!

We paid a little more for the unobstructed view and it was so worth it. It was such a nice night that I slept on the deck. I ended up being woken up by thunderstorms off in the distance and hot the most amazing light display of vertical and horizontal lighting I have ever seen. The food at the lodge was incredible.

The accomodations are no-frills, but I would rather stay here over more finely appointed rooms. The views are amazing. We had an amazing time sitting on the deck watching deer graze below us, watching a fantastic lightning storm in the distance, and watching the visits that seeming went on forever.

Nice lodge, everything was there, nothing was missing. For breakfast, 5 minutes walk wakes and is a walk through a piece of nature.

Was disappointed for the price. Our balcony was pretty flimsy we did not feel comfortable sitting out there which was too bad beautiful view. The next day tried to shower but had difficult time because shower head pointed to wall and could not ne adjusted try as I might.

I would have given this lodge 5 stars if they had bigger rooms. The rooms are tiny, and the beds are tiny. The most amazing part about my stay was the stars the night my family and I were there. You could see so many stars that it almost took your breath away.

I had a question about my room reservation, the women at guest services was less than helpful, best she could offer was to roll her eyes, The room I reserved was not the room I was given,,,,,,,,The Park itself is awesome, really good experience otherwise ,,,

For a hotel inside a national park, I was amazed it was so reasonably priced. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the view was amazing! We ate dinner here as well. The food was outstanging!

Great location. Check the website for deals, especially outside of prime season. Rooms are tiny and somewhat out of style, but clean and beds are good. Staff is very nice and helpful.

While the views are wonderful, the rooms need some attention. Ours was not as clean as one would hope, even after mentioning the not so clean bathroom we ended up cleaning it.

Good place to stay to see Mesa Verde. 700 year tour is worth for families travelling with kids or elderly couple. You can relax and enjoy seeing different sites.
