I was staying at the Parker House Hotel at $340.00 per evening in 1997..I was having difficulty with alcoholism and asked GOD to help me. I left my posh hotel room within five minutes after my prayer and walked into the shelter where I was welcomed with such compassion and understanding. I stayed ten days and have not found it necessary to take another drink since that time. I will always honor and respect the Men I met during that time. I hope and pray that the Men who enter the facility today realize and listen to the blessed instructions of the Men who are there to help other brother Veterans. One can find the good and bad in any place, it depends on perspective and what it is theyre looking for. I came to NECHV physically and mentally broken with very little hope. Circumstance forced me to make some changes in my life that took me out of the world of the perpetually dying and back into life. I couldnt have done that elsewhere. Im not alone, ive seen others come back from the abyss here. NECHV has resources available to change lives if youre willing to do your part. If youre a vereran and need help, make the call.

this is a very supportive environment for any service member who is in need of assistance. there are very dedicated counselors here. the curfew is before midnight. there are 10 floors here. there is security in place. there are alot of cohesive friendships built here at NECHV. there is food service, mail service. this evening 15 veterans attended a free concert and really enjoyed the show. any veteran who ever served any length of time is welcome to stay at NECHV
