The facility is nice and staff were friendly, our main issue is the process used to adopt animals. We adopted a Jack Russell Terrier mix and were told to return the following week to pick him up after he was neutered. We received a phone call on pick up day telling us the procedure had to be cancelled due to the dog being diagnosed with kennel cough. We were told that our adoption would have to be cancelled and our adoption fee would have to be returned. I asked if we could just put the adoption on hold and have someone contact us once the dog was ready for adoption, but the staff member said that the only thing they could do is cancel the adoption. She added that if still wanted to adopt the dog we would have to continue calling to check on the availability of the dog. It took us about an hour and a half to choose a dog that our family all agreed on and we felt comfortable with, only to learn that our efforts were in vain. If a family has met all of the requirements for adoption and is even willing to wait for the dog to be treated, it makes sense that the least the HSEP can do is place the adoption on hold. It seems that a disservice to the animals they are trying to help is being done.

We saw some puppies on their telethon that were going up for adoption. I called about them and was redirected to the shelter. I was told that I would be called when they had more information. I never received a call back so I called three more times and was told the same. My family and I decided to go to the shelter itself. We met this woman who told us that the dogs were not actually at the shelter yet but that we could adopt them a few days later when they arrived. She advised us to arrive at the shelter late before they close as the dogs were going through surgery and they "would not" be available to adopt in the morning. We went back the day she told us to go and were told that the dogs were already adopted early in the morning. They wasted our time and were inconsiderate as they gave us false hope only to be disappointed.

First the people working at the humane society where rude and where questioning my care for my dogs, and ironically they gave me a sick dog. Me and my sisters where looking for a large dog to be a companion to my sisters style of life (she enjoys running) and found the perfect dog and took her home. I mean she was perfect in every way she was well behave, we loved her from the very beginning. Sadly to say within two weeks she lost weight and got very sick upon taking her to the vet we found out she had distemper. My vet suggested to take her back to the humane society and let them know, therefore I took her back and was still charge for returning her as if it was my fault she was sick. I will not be returning to such place where the people are rude and carless and completely unprofessional.

I just want to say that The Humane Society is highly confused with Animal Services. The Humane Society has nothing to do with Animal Services. So many people are confused with them. Please do your research before writing a review with The Humane Society. The facility is a non profit organization and a no kill facility. They love the animals and want to find the perfect forever home for their babies during their stay. Please adopt and give those babies a chance. Just please do your research before you leave a vile comment.

We spent 3 hours looking for a dog, finally foumd ome we clicked with amd fell in love with. Within 4 days we had to bring him back to see a vet because he was sick. He tested positive for parvo. This should be something taken care of before adopting them out. We will not get another animal from them. Ive heard way to many horror stories. Plus one of the ladies that work there is super rude. Gave me am attitude after i was already told i would have time to look around the day before.

Recently picked up a puppy for adoption and Perla helped us out. She was extremely courteous and friendly, explaining all about having a new puppy and what to expect and how to break bad habits. The next day we went to pick up our puppy and they sat us down and told us about the shot records and everything we needed to know about a puppy. I.e microchip , when to come back , etc. Pumba is our new pet.

My daughter and I are volunteering at HSEP It has been a wonderful experience. Orientation is a must! You are taught all the rules and you take a tour of the facility so you become familiar. The staff is excellent in helping with any questions from how to use the washer and dryer to dealing with the animals. We are priveledged to volunteer here. Elizabeth Gomez

I went there in 2015 and I adopted a dog named Delilah now Hope she is soo amazing she is a pit bull the most loving dog ever she has been trained for a device dog for me and she is so amazing I love that place it is beautiful they have play areas so you can interact with them she is 2year old I love you guys thank you sooooo much

Well 3 months ago I got a wonderful dog and. I got to. say this shelter is a 5 star shelter the people there are kind and have the dogs and other animals in great shape and with well health all the dog were happy but my dog abby was the one really put my eye into . We adopted our dog Koby here and he is the most perfect pup. The shelter itself is very nice! The staff is always very friendly and kind and will do anything to help find the animals a good home. All the animals are well taken care of and treated with love and respect. This is a great place to volunteer too!

I had a very satisfying expierence with the adoption of my little mixed chihuahua, Biscuit. He has been an excellent companion and friend since November of 2014, when I first picked him up. It was hard to believe he was there for 3 weeks before I adopted him. Good staff and a pleasant experience! Thanks

Not very humane. Brought a stray in and was told she was going to be fixed and dropped back where I found her...so I adopted her. They lost my cat and I was there for 20 mins waiting for them to find her. They had her in a box ready to be dropped off back in the desert

Adopted my Caroline from them today and everyone was friendly and helpful. The staff remembered us when we came in and remembered the dog we wished to adopt which shows they truly take interest. Wonderful clean environment for the animals.

im not impressed ive seen better. the digs are dirty and on display, have mislead information on the dogs history, kennels are dirty as well. need to go and adopt an animal from there just so it doesnt have to stay in that misery.

When I have had my cats cremated they have made the process easy and sympathetic. Each cat is cremated individually and is returned in a metal container with the pets information.
