Thrift store or used car lot? You tell me. This is my 3rd visit to the Hospice Thrift store, I liked to go there because I believe in their cause. The first time was a little after they opened and I had a great experience! They had a good variety of collectibles, prices seemed fair. I went in a second time and the prices seemed to have doubled on everything I would have purchased, to almost retail pricing!? The last time I went in (about two weeks ago) I saw a cool pair of ADS Speakers, I thought great! And was about to purchase them expecting no more than a $50 tag at a thrift store... until I saw the price of $300!!! When I inquired as to why such a insultingly high price I was met with serious negativity and a general uninformed explanation of "We look things up" I guess that means eBay? -where there is a quality guarantee and at that price they would have been tested for all functioning conditions on a oscilloscope. t The seller would have the speakers in a clean and safe area where Hospice thought it wise to leave such quality vintage speakers on a dirty tile floor by the door where the had been all scratched up by the sand and people bumping into them, they were already showing signs of very recent cosmetic damage. Considering the hospice thrift story acquires everything for free- that is one hell of a mark up, even more than boutique vintage audio stores! Really guys I know you have to keep the lights on but how is the ARC or Goodwill able do it without gouging peoples eyes out?? I felt extremely insulted and left a little confused by intention of a "thrift store", if I had $300 to spend on speakers, or anything over $100 in the bank I would be able to shop retail and not be limited to the hope of finding something I could use at a Thrift Store -albeit one that stands for a good cause and I also feel good about shopping in. The Hospice Thrift store on Arapahoe Ave is the type of business that stinks of greed, and predatory pricing. I hope they change their business model or move back to New Jersey.

The are crooked and cater to the rich. The old reviews are NOT WRONG, this USE to be the BEST thrift in Boulder though now its all about greed, rude attitudes, high and non consistent prices. Pass it by and check out ARES or GreenWood Wildlife who actually supports the cause they stand for.

CUT THE PRICES IN HALF TO BEGIN WITH>>>>>>The prices are way way too high. The stuff was donated and people of low income are shopping there trying to get by. The sales are poorly let known and the store is a mess, Clothing sizes misplaced.

The best thrift shop in Boulder. They have quality items including furniture, jewelry, art, kids stuff, books, and much more in a very large store, very well displayed merchandise at good prices.

Wayyy too expensive. Everything I found that I was interested in, I could find at Walmart brand new for the same price (humidifier $10, shawl $6, tiny metal music stand $11). Waste of time.
