jeez - I dont know how to even say this nicely. The scenic drive is a travesty. I realize that lake Mead is dropping daily... but that doesnt mean you have to let the views off of this road to go crap. there are abandoned areas all over the place.. things arent kept up and really just feel sad. I drove through here one day and I dont know that I want to go back. My fiance agreed. In face I only took my camera out once, and I really didnt take any photos.. thats rare for me. I wish that is was nicer. Its lake mead! but they have failed it.

Fantastic place to spend the day. Getting the annual National Parks pass saves so much on visits. I use it to the utmost. I go weekly to Red Rock Canyon and Lake Mead. With every visit to a National Park being $20, the annual $80 covering ALL National Parks in the county, is an incredible deal and a cost savings. I love it. Thanks for listening.

Rent a boat and explore areas not easily accessible from land. Buy a houseboat and live on the lake inexpensively. The shoreline is rocky you wont find soft sand so you will need shoes to walk down to the water. Avoid July and August its too hot even on the water.

$20 fee to enter the lake area, once you get there its just the lake, boriiiing.....Valley of Fire and Red Rock Canyon entrance fee are cheaper than that and have lots of places to hike and better views.

Good to see the fish in Lake Mead..if you go towards the marina take bread or fish food, they love cheesy wotsits, really good fun. A nice drive back through the park too.

Lots of hiking trails to enjoy, beautiful vistas all around, and lots of picnic grounds to have a barbecue...must visit if in the area!

No showers in the primitive camping area but still a great place. Very quiet except for air traffic. I would camp here again any day.

Great unhurried trip or not the lake on the paddle steamer and saw Hoover Dam from the water on the intake side.

Very pretty views. Hoover Dam is nearby. I hope the lake fills up after all of the snow melts in the Rockies.

Very scenic place, specially during the sunset the lake and the mountains lit up with the sunlight.
