On most occasions I have had a pleasant and rewarding experience shopping at this store where I have spent many happy hours and more than a few dollars over the last 15 or so years. Today I was confronted by blond, foul- tempered harridan who all but ordered me out of the establishment with the warning that closing time was nigh upon me. I replied that closing time was still 30 minutes away as it was just 7:30 and I only wanted to look at some DVDs which I frequently buy there, where they are conveniently displayed right in front of this aging battleaxe. She muttered an unpleasant and highly disrespectful remark and without further ado, I suggested she seek a job where she would not have to deal with the public and headed for the door. As I made my exit she called out,"ornery old fart!" Now maybe I am an ornery old fart, But some people defer to the aged and treat them with a modicum of respect. The African American gentleman standing there beside her is a model of decency and courteous almost to a fault. In fact, the current staff at this Amvets is almost entirely nice folks with this one exception. Believe me, I have seen many, many employees come and go at Amvets over the years and I expect to see more, at least ONE more. Thank you, Cecil A. Kelley Age 77

I had never been to any Amvet stores in the past since where I live we do not have them. My boyfriend and I were in town to buy a car and decided we wanted to do some thrifting. I was very highly impressed with the size of this store. So much stuff. Organized well. It just so happened that the day we went everything was 25% off. I got a huge bag of stuff for 20$. It was a very successful thrifting trip. The black gentleman at the register was so so nice. Incredibly kind individual. Highly recommend this thrift store.

This is my favorite thrift shop in Knoxville. They always have a huge selection. I always find lots of name brand clothes in good condition. Somethings are not in very good condition which is to be expected. The prices are very resonable. I will always shop there. The best place to find treasures.

You can find good deals here. Lots of clothes including plus sizes. Mostly organized. Usually very hot inside, not sure if they have air conditioning. Not the most upscale thrift store. Better prices than Karm but not as nice of a store.

Great thrift store! Prices are reasonable and i didnt see any stained or holey clothes like i do at Goodwill. Employees were friendly and helpful. I purchased some clothes for myself and 3 bookshelves and paid less than $30.

Dirty, messy, outdated and unfriendly atmosphere. The clothes are so outdated and other stuff in poor condition Not a clean place to take your kids This location needs to close and ask for community help to clean up
