Went here for the first time today and man did I have an experience. My sister and I (im 28, shes 17) walked in and immediately upon entering, the assistant manager stopped up and said is there anything I can help you with? Normal thing to do. We said no thank you. She says if you find anything let me know, we said thank you again. She then comes back saying and if you do, let me know and I will put it at the register and you can get it when you leave. Ok. got it. We walked around the store for what was probably an hour, picked out some items etc. We were waiting on my mother and aunt to finish their shopping and my sister went into a diabetic low, so we carry a small lunch style bag with us with her diabetic needs (food, test strips, insulin etc) There were signs all over saying there was no food allowed so I took her to the front of the store where the carts and benches are, we sat down, tested her blood, she ate her snack and the assistant manger charges over there and looks for us, finally stops us and sees what we are doing and says you you guys buy anything? We say no, we just stepped out because she is in a diabetic low. I proceeded to tell her, if you think we are shoplifting, we are not. She claimed she never thought that but then said how we were in there a long time and we didnt purchase so she kept an eye on us. BLAH BLAH BLAH. Upon reentering, the woman who work there at the front register said that she told them to watch us because I was carrying an extra bag (my sisters diabetic bag). After it was all said and done, we did confront the assistant manager and let her know she completely offended us, she was nasty, rude and just a horrible "manager". She interrupted me multiple times telling me to "let her speak" after she completely ignored everything me and my mother said to her. She then LIED about what she did and finally owned up to it AFTER I called her out. Trying to say she does it to everyone. I was in that store for over an hour waiting on my family to finish shopping and not once did she treat a single person the way we were treated. Was the most disgusting display of management I have ever seen. I will NEVERr return to that store and will most definitely be spreading the word about it. The 2 thrift shops across the street however, excellent employees and wonderful service.

COMPOUNDCOLLECTIVE

For years I have donated goods to this thrift store. Many items donated are unused, cloths with tags books, tools and other items. I donate several times a year. The other day I made a donation and I was turned away. He said "we do not want any more items from you." They called my items junk. What it is is many small items in boxes and there are particular workers there who do not want to sort or clean. This same dude grabbed a stack of lampshades (I was giving to them) without even looking at all of them simply tossed them into their junk bin. I took the rest to the thrift store across the street and they gladly took them. I will never donate to any St. Vincent store anywhere ever again and will recommend al else to avoid them as well. I also will never go back into that store again to shop. I do not loose...they do.

This store is Very expensive when it comes to things other then clothes. It is dirty and the people volunteering there are crabby and mean. It smells very disgusting as well. They will shut off the light 30 minutes before they close just so the volunteers can go home. If your looking for a clean, friendly environment, this place is definitly not the place for you. Your better off hitting up rummage sales or the thrift Shop that is located across the street.

Worst of all the St Vincent Stores. I have gone. Went on a Saturday hours say open till 2. Made it there at 12:50 p.m said we had 10 minutes till closing. Found an item to buy got to the check out. Tried to use my debit card, they refused because it was under 10 dollars. Employees were very rude. Alot of unhappy shoppers today 6-4-16. What a fricken joke. I guess i will stick to Goodwill never a bad experience there.

Agreed, the place is disgusting, even three years after that post... their furniture is highly priced and stinks and over worn. even including the clothing. they will put anything on the floor. although the volunteers are fairly nice, depending on the person of coarse. i never had a bad experience with that. then again its nice for donations but the shopping experience needs improvement.

Always very nice volunteers working! St. Vincents also has a program that will help with $250- $300 for rent or power bill if you do so many hours of volunter work. They also have a food pantry that always has fresh milk and eggs along many other items!!

Sorry place a lot of stuff donated goes in the trash because not worth enough money would rather throw away than give away work for less than minimum wages to receive a bus pass
