I came to your office to find a service dog for my 13 year old granddaughter. She picked out Bernie which was a perfect match she could not have chosen a better dog. She has a brother that is 2 and one that is 4. The dog loves them all and they love him equally. However at the adoption he was sneezing a lot. They lady that gave me my folder told me if this presist to contact your office. I had my daughter come by your office last week with Bernie your office refused to treat him. She explained that he was coughing and sneezing when we picked him up and that we were told if this presist bring him back. She was told by one of your employees that she could turn him back in and the vet would see him. Otherwise he would just need to be taken to a vet of her choice. My daughter said no I am not turning him in I am here to get help he is sick. As she turned her back to my daughter and walked away "then take him to a vet". My niece is a vet in Colorado she said that it sounded like Kennel cough that usually contracted when caged in a pound setting and that he would need to be on a antibiotic. He finally was seen by a vet on Friday he does have kennel cough and otherwise he was very healthy. This cost me out of pocket 119.00. I was also told that by activating the 30 day free insurance would pay for the first visit. We found out that the insurance has a 250.00 deductible and was basically worthless. I have been sick since I have been at your shelter as I am allergic to dogs and cats but I did what I needed to do for my grandchild. I do not regret the adoption but I am very disappointed with the misleading information. When my daughter brought Bernie to your office since he was sick when he left your facility you should have seen him as I was told. Where is your compassion for the animals you have in your facility and the ones you are adopting out sick? Bernie means the world to my grand daughter they had an instant connection.

There has got to be a way to test puppies(dogs) for PARVO before you release them to a family. Although they are vaccinated for parvo it does not matter if they already have it. If there is no way to test for it before you allow adoption then you should require a 10 day waiting period before they are allowed to be adopted, for symptoms typical show up within that time if they have been infected, so a family does not have to go through what we did. We adopted the puppy on Sunday July 16th and had to put her down today only 9 days later. Most of which she spent in the hospital at an expense of over $4000. Nothing more devastating then the excitement of a new puppy just to have to let her go. Greenville Humane Society does give you a puppy insurance plan you can sign up to do for a month free, however, you have 24 hrs from the moment you adopt the puppy to sign up for it if you do not they tell you too bad! This is something they should probably stress, I thought I was signing up for it within 24 hrs but apparently not. Please do not adopt from here unless you are 100 percent positive what you are adopting has nothing wrong with him/her. It is awful to go through!! My heart is wrenched.

Pre Adopted a puppy, 2 hours before I was going to pick him up, they called and told me he had Parvo. We made a hard decision and adopted another puppy who we took home that day. Within 3 days he too had parvo. This humane society does not properly decontaminate the rooms when a dog gets an illness. More dogs where coming back with parvo the same day we adopted our other dog. I will not be coming back to this humane society to adopt another dog. They need to learn how to handle situations like this and clean the room accordingly. I believe this humane society will have an outbreak of parvo. This was end of march 2017.

I have had very positive experience on the adopt side and I try to purchase anything I can here to support the facility. However, I recently had my kitten spayed and it was not a good experience. The person on the phone did NOT explain all of the costs. It ended up costing over $75 instead of the $59 I was expecting and the clinic Manager Jennifer was EXTREMELY RUDE to me and basically said that I was lying about what I was told. She may think its ok to treat people poorly because of the low costs involved, but it shows a LACK of Professionalism and CLASS!!!

I had a wonderful experience with Greenville Humane Society. I have a 4 month old Yorkie Poo that I had neutered on 9/4/15. Made his appointment via email in August and everything went fine. He came home with pain medication and has been healing wonderfully. Price was an affordable $40 as opposed to over $200 with his vet. His incision is healing nicely, he has been fine after the first day. I am happy with Greenville Humane Society clinic services and anticipate taking him back next year for his yearly shots :)

got two of my dogs from the humane society. they where really friendly and helpful. my lovely copper was adopted 15 years ago and unfortunately he has passed but was the best dog you could ever ask for. my other dog was adopted 10 years ago and at first she was a little difficult but after some training she turned into a great dog. i think some of these bad reviews are people that expect there dog to be perfect with out any effort put into the training of the dog.

We needed to find Charlie a good home. I was worried he would languish in a shelter for months waiting to be adopted. The GHS No-Kill shelter truly cares about placing pets with good families. Charlie was adopted within a few days. I was told that fast adoptions are the norm there, even for an adult cat like Charlie. Thank you GHS for helping to get Charlie a new home.

I appreciate their care here. But I was disappointed this time with the handling of my Lab. He is very scared in new places. Last time I came in he was handled perfectly. They held him gently for his shots. This time he was immediately held down to get his shot. It was hard to watch. He struggled to get away. I wsh they would have been more gentle with him.

I bring my dogs here every year for their annual heartworm testing and vaccinations. Everyone is always so friendly and most importantly it is quick and convenient! I am usually in and out within fifteen minutes which makes my life less stressful and keeps my dogs from freaking out. The prices are also awesome compared with my vets!

A clean facility with a very caring staff. My daughter, who is a vet tech, brought a stray cat to be spayed and was very pleased with the service and pricing. My wife has used the grooming services for our poodle and has also been very pleased. A facility which fulfills its mission very nicely.

The doctors and receptionists deliver professional, honest and compassionate care. I have donated before (through a pet store) and will designate them as my Amazon recipient. Thank you, ALL, for excellent care for my rescued kitty. Love you. I know you cannot remember be, but I remember you!

I took my German Shepherd here to be netured and had a pleasant experience. The staff helped me take him out to the car once surgery was over and his incision healed up nicely. The receptionist was quick to respond to any of my questions/concerns (and I had several) via email. Thank you❤️

Amazing experience with my baby, Leda. She was a nine month old puppy when I found this wonderful place. They made her spay experience as smooth as possible even checked on her afterwards. I have been to expensive vets who have nothing on this staff and establishment. Thank you GHS!

I got my dog Meadow from here. She’s a Siberian Husky/ Boxer mix. She was about 2 months old when I got her. She was clean and healthy the day I got her, and now almost 3 years later she’s still a happy , energetic girl. I could not thank them enough for helping me find her. ☺️

This is my first adoption of a rescue who was NOT a puppy. I was so lucky to have found him. It has taken him a little while to adjust, which was expected, but Winston is a really easy going snuggle bug, and lets me put a jersey on him hehe!!

Brought our brand new kitten in to get neutered last Friday and upon getting him back and over the weekend we have found that he is now infested with flees. So now we have a kitten who we cannot bathe for 10 days and is covered in flees...

Took both of my dogs in to get fixed. One spay, one neuter, microchip and shots. The dogs came out just as clean and happy as they were when I dropped them off. Very nice facility and nice staff.

Need a puppy fix come on by. No pressure just browse and adore. We actually came by to drop off much needed newspaper but stayed to play with some puppies and kittens.

You guys need to learn how to pick up the phone because sometimes people need to speak to a worker rather than a robotic answering machine. Otherwise, nice clinic.

One of the best humane societies I have dealt with. Vaccinations and pet medicines (at a good discounted price) are some among the many services they provide.

This is a nice shelter. No kill. They have places for you to visit with furry friends before deciding. A clean happy place. Low cost spay neuter clinic

A clean building, but with adoption prices at $195, looks like too much is going toward other areas, rather than assisting finding homes for animals.

Stop complaining. The humane society is carrying the burden of a society that neglects animals. They may not be perfect but they are saving lives.
