Great potential, not so great execution. The venue has great acoustics but there is something about it - table lay out, seating styles, something - that causes it to feel more like dinner theater than a live music venue. For me, this results in a disconnect between artist and audience reflected by a less engaged audience. I feel bad for great performers who are falling flat with the audience here because the ambiance is off. My primary reason for going is the music, however, they serve food too, so..... The food is just ok, and as so many others point out, the service in the venue is very slow (the restaurant may be fine) and the pricing seems a bit high for the offerings. With so many other venues to choose from, City Winery needs to step up their game or risk being a short-timer.

Nice venue with sub par service.... When you get to City Winery the first thing you see is a beautiful venue with posh furnishings. I attended City Winery for the David Bowie Labyrinth showing. Our server took 35 minutes to show up to our table. Our food was not as described in the description. They gave me a half scoop of pasta that was not what was indicated. When I inquired about the pasta the server shrugged his shoulders and said I think they ran out? Our drinks took forever to come we were half way finished with our second course of dinner before getting our first round and it was very difficult to get a refill. I loved the venue and the screening of the movie however I will most likely not be back due to the lack of service.

We joined some friends for dinner. We chose not to take in a concert but just do dinner so that we could visit with our friends. The restaurant is not large and shortly after we sat down, two musicians entered and prepared to play. We had ordered two small plates. One came out quickly but the other did not appear until the main courses were served. Poor execution. We had to shout to continue the conversation at the table due to the volume of the music. After we finished our meal, we went out to a table and chairs outside. One of the employees was kind enough to light a propane patio heater. It was not the experience we were seeking.

The 3.6 is indicative of something bad- i should not have tried it for food but i gave it a chance. I ordered a kale salad and halibut. The first was okay but not great- strange combo of crappy dressing with anchovies. The fish was atrocious- probably frozen and thawed in microwave. No flavors in either. Overall- bad area with $5 fenced parking- poor food and seemingly very busy staff evem though there was only ten ppl in dining area. Awful- needs total rehab of food selection. If you find yourself stuck here for dinner- get salad drinks and sides. Currently writting this from athens diner- atleast i know ill be happy here.

We have been there twice first time had dinner before the concert. Only thing worth the money was the hamburger. The other 3 people starved...way to pricey for what they got. Second time ate before we came. Two couples one person had 2 beers, other had 1 glass of sparkly wine other couple got a botttle of wine. Very proud of your wine...it was $52 so total tab $88.00!!! I think with all the money coming in to the venue you could spend some money to upgrde those HORRIBLE chairs. A plus was the performer Steve Wariner, awesome. Our waitress was also very good.

Service was good. But the quality of the meal was not. It was a prix fixe dinner and for 50$ more we could have dined at BlackBerry Farms. The first three courses were salt. Then the lamb was raw, which I usually like but it was tastless and a horrible cut. The dessert was smoked and so much so that I was still tasting it two hours later despite many IPAs at our next stop that evenings. We will not be back.

The space here is very cool. The food and drinks are delicious and the live music and shows are phenomenal. The only things keeping me from rating it 5 stars is (1) parking (they have a cash valet but not all the time), (2) service is really slow and (3) I think they do some of their artists a disservice by not having a space for guests to get up and dance if they want to.

Discovered this place from a both they sponsored at the local beer festival and went out to get the brunch that won at their both. The hostess was very rude when I had told her that we had won the free branches. We asked to be sat outside and she sat us at a table directly in the sun. We say there for fifteen minutes and was not even offered water. Very disappointed.

Music was amazing - got to love Sam Bush. But the food and the service were less than stellar. If you have dietary restrictions, beware! The "GF" pork tacos came with flour tortillas. I think that is a pretty rookie mistake. The server was nowhere to be found most of the night. My recommendation is you come for the show and eat before.

It was the first time that me and my wife it ever been to a place like this to see a concert we were very impressed with the atmosphere. The crowd sometimes seem disrespectful to the Artist. But overall we had a really great evening problems with getting the food out or liar but service was great and the music was top notch

I had a Sauvignon Blanc, Kale Ceaser and the Brown Butter Cream Puff. Only the wine was good. The food was dry and hard. All of it. Paying for the food was a mistake. It was a terrible experience for the price. The ice cream was frozen and the salad has a drop of dressing. Very bad. Never coming back.

Went for dinner and the food was very good, but the service was not. Took 25 minutes for us to get a drink and half an hour for an appetizer. There was only valet parking which was fine, but I feel bad for others who only want selfparking because they do not want other people in their car.

I had a good experience here on my first visit. I went to see a concert and was very impressed with the environment and excellent service. The food was decent. I would recommend checking this location out if you ever get the chance. I would definitely go back to see another concert here.

The food was good, but the layout for live music is horrible. Felt like I was in a sardine can. Not to mention the person behind me backing into me. Not great views of the stage either. They really need to rethink the layout, it is just terrible. And the place is so loud...

The Amel Larrieux show on 3/3 had to be rescheduled to our dismay (we saw her previously at City Winery and LOVED her show). We requested a refund via email as per the announcement I received for our tickets and was granted a full credit the same day. I am extremely impressed!

Went last night with my wife for a Christmas Concert by a Nashville local favorite of ours: Andrew Ripp. Was the best concert experiences of our marriage. We got to sample some new dishes, was served by the best people in nashville in an intimate environment. We WILL be back.

Great band....THE ABSOLUTE worst bartenders in the history of bars!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whoever is their supervisor should fire EVERY single one of them!!!! Embarrassing to staff such crap when it is going to be busy.....it should never ever take 13 minutes to get a drink

Great for a drink and atmosphere. However, I hope they improve their food . We went for a 3 course meal and movie and it was not horrible but tasteless. I would try this place again if I could order off of their regular menu.

First time for dinner here. Our waiter, Jamal, was fabulous. His recommendations were right on point. Food was tasty and the service outstanding. Make sure you stop in City Winery and ask for Jamal.

This is an okay show venue, not the most comfortable chairs. You can have better food and drinks elsewhere in Nashville for more reasonable money. Ultimately its not worth what they charge

Great food, slow service. Went there for brunch had the burger and steak and eggs, delicious! The drink orders were very slow getting to the table. Would still go back to try again!

Great place to hear music, not a bad seat in the house. And an imaginative, well-priced menu. Plus, of course, really good wine. Lots of cool rooms for private parties as well.

Mac McAnally would be fantastic anywhere. But the food is too high brow :-) too many things that are not recognizable. A nice venue but please bring the food down a bit

Wine on tap and a decent amount of other wines to choose from. Plus they have some pretty good food, we tried the smoked bone marrow with toast which was pretty good.

Serves guests with tap water and watered down beverages... Sound quality is mediocre at best, and guest service was poor, as they only had one server. Pitiful.

Good music venue, great waitstaff, decent food. Biggest complaint is the terribly uncomfortable chairs! Detracted from an excellent Cowboy Junkies concert.

A great place to see music, but the menu is limited and they try too hard to be eclectic but the execution is poor. Service is very good.

New menu, new executive chef. I enjoyed the atmosphere, and the new line of cuisine. A must see if I do say so myself! Amazing flat breads.
